Free vs Pro & your subscription
Boomeraang is free to start. Pro ($1.99/month) is for families with more than one thing to tag and who want access to organization lost & found inventory.

How the monthly tag allowance works
This is the part families ask about most, so here's the rule in plain terms:
- A tag you've already created never expires. It keeps working forever, on any plan.
- Your plan only controls how many new tags you can generate.
- Free: 1 tag, ever.
- Pro: 3 new tags per month. Unused tags don't roll over — each month you get a fresh 3.
An example
You're on Free and make 1 tag in June. In July you upgrade to Pro and get 3 new tags for July; you use 1. The other 2 don't carry into August. If you cancel Pro in August, every tag you already made still works — you just can't make new ones until you're Pro again.
Pre-printed tags are always free
Registering a pre-printed Boomeraang tag never counts against your Free lifetime tag or your Pro monthly allowance.
Upgrade to Pro
- Go to Subscription (you'll also be prompted if you hit the Free tag limit).
- Choose Subscribe — $1.99/month.
- Enter your payment details (on iPhone this uses the App Store; elsewhere it's a card via Stripe).
Cancel or reactivate
- Cancel anytime from the Subscription screen. You keep Pro until the end of the current billing period, then return to Free. Your existing tags keep working.
- Reactivate before the period ends to resume auto-renew, or subscribe again later.
- You can toggle auto-renew on or off without losing access mid-period.
