Reuniting families with what matters

Someone found your child's jacket, took a minute out of their day, and made sure it got home. That deserves a thank-you. Today we're introducing tipping — a simple, optional way to send a small reward to the person who returned your belongings.

How it works

When an item is returned, the found-item notification now includes a Say thanks with a reward option. Sending one takes a few seconds:

  1. Open the notification for the returned item.
  2. Choose an amount — quick picks are $1, $2, $3, or $5, or enter your own.
  3. Add a short thank-you message if you like.
  4. Confirm with a saved payment method.

Where it lands depends on who helped: a registered member gets it in their wallet, someone without an account receives a secure claim link by email, and an organization's staff see it credited to the organization's wallet.

No platform fee — really

We think gratitude shouldn't be taxed. Boomeraang takes no platform fee on parent-to-finder rewards. Only the standard payment processing fee applies (roughly 2.9% + 30¢), and we show it transparently before you send. Every extra dollar goes to the person who earned it.

It's always optional

Tipping is never required and never expected. It's simply there for the moments when you want to give a little back for a good deed.

Why we built it

Boomeraang works because people do a small kind thing — pick up a lost item and help it home. Tipping is a way to close that loop with a bit of warmth, and to gently encourage the behavior that makes the whole network work. For schools and clubs, those thank-yous add up in the organization's wallet and can be cashed out or put back into the community.

Try it

Rewards are available now. Learn more in the guide to rewards, wallet & cash-out — or, if you run a lost & found, see how tips reach your organization.
